Time tracking mappings

To change the time tracking Ceptah Bridge mappings, select Time Tracking tab in the Project settings window.

An explanation of the Time Tracking Mappings tab is provided below.

Field Description
Time Spent / Work Log Tick the option to enable the Time Spent / Work Log synchronisation.
Jira native Select this option to map Time Spent or JIRA built-in worklogs to MS Project.
Tempo Select this option to map Tempo worklogs to MS Project.
Tempo billable Select this option to map billable time in Tempo worklogs to MS Project.
Map users by Select the JIRA user property to use when matching Worklog users with resources in MS Project. This setting has effect only when the 'Daily actual work' and 'For each assignment' options are selected. Note that Account Id and Username are only available in JIRA Cloud and JIRA Server respectively.
Actual Work

Tick the option to map issue Time Spent to task Actual Work.

Import: The Actual Work task field will be populated with the source issue Time Spent value.

Sync (unlinked task): Has no effect.

Sync (linked task): The Actual Work task field will be set to the linked issue Time Spent value.

If the issue has a status that is mapped to %complete= 100%, Actual Work will not be updated.

Field

Tick the option to map issue Time Spent to a task field.

Import: The selected task field will be populated with the source issue Time Spent value.

Sync (unlinked task): Has no effect.

Sync (linked task): The selected task field will be set to the linked issue Time Spent value.

Field (combo box) Select the task field to map to issue Time Spent. If the field is just a generic field and unlike Work, for example, does not represent effort (e.g., Number1), the field value will be in hours.
Daily actual work

Tick the option to map issue Work Log to Task Usage data (daily actual work).

Import: The task will be populated with the values from the source issue Work Log on day by day basis.

Sync (unlinked task): Has no effect.

Sync (linked task): The task usage data will be set to the values from the linked issue Work Log on day by day basis.

There are two sub-options for this mode: “For each assignment” and “For the whole task”. The first sub-option can only be selected if Assignee synchronisation is disabled or Assignee is mapped to a task field.

For each assignment Tick the option to create individual task usage entries for each JIRA user who logged work against the task on the day. The option is only available if Assignee synchronisation is disabled or Assignee is mapped to a task field.
Name Tick the option to map MS Project resources to JIRA users by the resource names.
Field Tick the option to map MS Project resources to JIRA users by the value of the selected resource field.
Field (combo box) Select the resource field to use when mapping JIRA users to MS Project resources.
For the whole task Tick the option to create a single task usage entry for each day that will include all the work logged against the task on the day by any JIRA users.
Ignore work logged Tick the option to ignore the task Work Log entries starting from a particular date during synchronisation.
Less then Tick the option to ignore the task Work Log entries for the last n days.
Less then (text box) Enter the number of last days to ignore.
This week Tick the option to ignore the task Work Log entries for this week.
After status date Tick the option to ignore the task Work Log entries after the project Status Date.
Synchronise from (check box) Tick the option to preserve the actual data in MS Project up until the specified date.
Synchronise from (text box) Select the date from which the actual data is synchronised. The entries prior to this date will be untouched.
Remaining Est. Tick the option to enable the Remaining Estimate synchronisation.
+ Time Spent (- Time Spent) Controls whether Time Spent will be added to Remaining Estimate during synchronisation if the direction is from JIRA to MS Project or subtracted from MS Project effort if the direction is from MS Project to JIRA.
Direction Button Press the button to change the direction of issue Remaining Estimate synchronisation.
Work

Tick the option to map issue Remaining Estimate to task Work.

Import: The Work task field will be populated with Remaining Estimate of the source issue, optionally with the Time Spent added.

Sync (unlinked task): The Remaining Estimate field of the new issue will be populated with the value of the Work task field optionally less the sum of the Work for the child tasks if the "Subtract child tasks" check box is ticked.

Sync (linked task): If the synchronisation direction is from JIRA to MS Project, the Work task field will be set to the linked issue Remaining Estimate, optionally with Time Spent added.

If the synchronisation direction is from MS Project to JIRA, the issue Remaining Estimate will be set to the value of the Work task field (optionally less the sum of the Work for the child tasks if the "Subtract child tasks" check box is ticked) and optionally minus the issue Time Spent.

Field

Tick the option to map issue Remaining Estimate to a task field. If the field is just a generic field and, unlike Work, for example, does not represent effort (e.g., Number1), the field value will be assumed to be in hours.

Import: The selected task field will be populated with the source issue Remaining Estimate, optionally with Time Spent added.

Sync (unlinked task): The Remaining Estimate field of the new issue will be populated with the value of the selected task field optionally less the sum of the field values for the child tasks if the "Subtract child tasks" check box is ticked.

Sync (linked task): If the synchronisation direction is from JIRA to MS Project, the selected task field will be set to the linked issue Remaining Estimate, optionally with Time Spent added.

If the synchronisation direction is from MS Project to JIRA, the issue Remaining Estimate will be set to the value of the selected task field (optionally less the sum of the field values for the child tasks if the "Subtract child tasks" check box is ticked) and optionally minus the issue Time Spent.

Field (combo box) Select the task field to map to issue Remaining Estimate.
Subtract child tasks Tick the option to subtract the sum of the values of the mapped MS Project field for the child tasks from the value for the summary task when the information is copied from MS Project to JIRA.
Preserve '% Complete' Tick the option to preserve the '% complete' field when the mapping updates an MS Project task. Otherwise, MS Project may recalculate %complete automatically when fields such as Work or Duration are changed. 

Original Estimate

Tick the option to enable the Original Estimate synchronisation.
Include sub-tasks Tick the option to add the sub-tasks Original Estimates to the main task Original Estimate when the field is copied into MS Project.
Field

Select the task field to map to JIRA Remaining Estimate. If the field is just a generic field and, unlike Work, for example, does not represent effort (e.g., Number1), the field value will be assumed to be in hours.

Import: The selected task field will be populated with the source issue Original Estimate, optionally with the sub-tasks included.

Sync (unlinked task): The Original Estimate field of the new issue will be populated with the value of the selected task field, optionally less the sum of the field values for the child tasks if the "Subtract child tasks" check box is ticked.

Sync (linked task): If the synchronisation direction is from JIRA to MS Project, the selected task field will be set to the linked issue Original Estimate, optionally including the sub-tasks Original Estimates if the "Include sub-tasks" check-box is ticked.

If the synchronisation direction is from MS Project to JIRA, the issue Original Estimate will be set to the value of the selected task field (optionally less the sum of the field values for the child tasks if the "Subtract child tasks" check box is ticked).

Subtract child tasks Tick the option to subtract the sum of the values of the mapped MS Project field for the child tasks from the value for the summary task when the information is copied from MS Project to JIRA.

Include sub-tasks in Time Spent / Remaining Estimate

Tick the option to include the sub-tasks data into the parent task data when synchronising Time Spent and Remaining Estimate.
