Import issues
The Bridge can import existing issues from JIRA and create the respective tasks in MS Project. To start the import, do the following.
-
Select JIRA Import in the main menu
or press the Import button on the synchronisation window.
-
The following window will appear.
-
To import all available issues from a JIRA project, tick Project and select the project in the adjacent combo box.
To import particular issues, tick Issue keys and then type the keys of the issues in or copy them into the adjacent text box. The keys must be separated by a space or comma.
To import the set of issues returned by a JIRA filter, tick JIRA filter and select the filter in the adjacent combo box.
To import issues from a JQL query, tick JQL and enter the query into the adjacent field. -
The following options allow imporing linked issues for the already imported issues.
-
All linked. If the option is on, all the issues linked to the imported issues will be imported as well even if they do not match the import criteria.
-
For mapped link types. If the option is on, all the issues linked to the imported issues will be imported as well if the link type is mapped in Ceptah Bridge settings. That will happen even if the additional issues do not match the import criteria.
-
Where the link type is mapped, and the additional linked issue has the mapped role. If the option is on, all the issues linked to the imported issues will be imported as well if the link type is mapped in Project Settings and the additional linked issue has the role the mapping is applied to. That will happen even if the additional issue does not match the import criteria.
For example, if there is a link mapping for "is blocked by" and A is blocked by B, when B is imported, A will be imported as well. The opposite is not true - when A is imported, B will not be imported unless it satisfies the filter.

The above logic is recursive. Ceptah Bridge will also analyse links for the issues that did not match the original filter and have been imported as linked issues or sub-tasks.
-
-
To import the sub-tasks of the issues specified with one of the above methods as well, tick the Import Subtasks checkbox. This will also make sure that all imported sub-tasks are created under the task linked with their parent issue if the former is already in the project.

-
After the import options are specified, click Prepare to start analysing the issues being imported. The synchronisation window will be populated with the new tasks to be created basing on the imported issues.
-
Review the tasks, uncheck the ones you don’t want to be created, and click Apply changes to add the tasks to the project.
The import is executed in accordance with the synchronisation mappings described in the Project Settings chapter.
