Issue Type Update

Question: Can I change and sync issue types (e.g., task to sub-task or epic) using Ceptah Bridge?

Answer: No, Ceptah Bridge does not support changing the issue type in Jira by editing it in MS Project. Issue type synchronisation is only supported from Jira to MS Project, not the other way around.

Ceptah Bridge cannot update issue type because it would need to execute the "Move" command in Jira, which may require user input to fill in missing values for the required fields.

If you need to change an issue type, you must do so manually in Jira. Alternatively, you can delete the issue, clear the issue key in MS Project, and re-synchronise to create a new issue with the desired type.
