Security Overview

Deployment

Ceptah Bridge is an MS Project Add-in that works on the local computer. There are no components that require installation on a Jira instance.

Data Transmission

Ceptah Bridge uses Jira REST API to interact with a Jira instance. The connection is by HTTPS or HTTP, depending on the Jira URL (https:// or http://), as configured.

When used with Project Server or Project Online, Ceptah Bridge does not access the server directly.

During activation and deactivation, the product sends to the activation server the information that the user enters, such as the name and e-mail, as well as the hash of the parameters of some hardware components. This is the only time when the data is sent outside of the user's environment.

Credentials

The Jira connection parameters may include the user's Jira credentials. If provided, for the Global Connection settings, these credentials are stored in Windows Registry. For the project-level connection settings, the credentials are saved in the project file itself.

In both cases, the credentials are protected with the Windows user identity using the standard Windows mechanisms. Only the user who saved the settings can access them.

Log Files

Log files are saved in the Documents\Ceptah Bridge\Logs folder for the current user. These logs may contain fragments of the Jira or MS Project data that Ceptah Bridge has accessed.
